下面这句话中的副词“abroad”为什么能修饰名词“a trip”？

不奇怪，副词修饰名词的情形很多。

1.表示时间的副词如today, yesterday, tomorrow, now, before等都可以修饰名词。比如：

The weather today is wonderful.

His speech yesterday is a failure.

2.表示方位的副词here, there, aground, above, below, outside, abroad等也可以修饰名词。如

The weather there is really terrible.

The cup below is mine.

当然，还有其它一些副词也可以修饰名词。比如alone：The girl alone cannot finish the job.
